Its been a long time since I didn't post in my blog, but I've been so busy! I can't believe that finally grade 9 is over, and after 6 days I'll start my journey in IGCSE! I must say that grade 9 was pretty hectic and stressful but thank god the year is over! Let me tell you more about my summer vacation. It was one of the best ! Although it passed really QUICKLY ,but at least I did loads of stuff. It all started when I landed in Turkey on June 16.I stayed there for 6 days , and they were one of the best 6 days in my whole life. I had fun learning new turkish words and talking with people in Turkish just to work on my "skills". I also remember the day where I had a map of istanbul and I started visiting random places;like Topkapi Palace, Taksim Square, The blue mosque, Ayasofya, and the amazing Bosphorus bridge! On June 23rd we had to leave istanbul and go back to Cairo. I stayed in Cairo for 3 weeks, and everyday was more eventful than the previous day. So I never said 'IM BORED' !! As usual my family and I did those family greetings , but what was fun is that everyone started sharing their stories throughout the year. On July 10 , I went out with my sister and her friends when I got this phone call from dad. He said that we had to go home back immediately as we had to pack since we were traveling on midnight to Hurghada. Though it was sad saying goodbye to my friends , but I had this great feeling since I was going to hurghada for my first time! On July 11 we landed in Hughada-Gouna and there I decided to refresh my mind and relax before going back to school. So I spent my time swimming in the beach, visiting the submarine and exploring the sea life, trying random photo-shoot sessions and ride the paddling boat all by myself. What was really interesting is that I made Russian friends in Hurghada ,and I taught them some Arabic. So I spent that whole night bursting into laughter at their pronunciation! Finally by July 19 we were back here in
Jeddah , and Ramadan was just the next day. Ramadan was amazing like every year. I did my best to please god , and I read all 30 chapter in Qur'an . This was one of the best achievements I've made this summer! That's all about my summer vacation! IT WAS A HUGE BLAST!

A Day To Remember "13-03-12"
Those past two weeks were such a blast not only did I have fun, but I learnt a lesson behind an experience. My mates and I have been putting all our effort to help the needy orphans in Gambia. We launched a sale in the school, and sold our own hand-made stuff including bookmarks, yellow ribbons (which were a sign for supporting the Gambian orphans), Calendars, Hair accessories and much more. Thanks for those who cared much and donated. A week later, my mates and I decided to make our own show explaining the difference between the life of a needy orphan and a spoiled popular girl. The next day, the script was ready as well as the characters. I was chosen to be the needy girl who wishes to enjoy her life with her parents beside her. I knew I’ll do well since I had the potential to act like a poor girl. Day after day, my mates and I were doing our best to let this show be an outstanding one but yet dramatic. We were stressed for some reasons, but that stress brought us to a successful end. I’ve been counting the days until it was ’13/03/12”. When my alarm rang that morning, I got the Goosebumps and felt the adrenaline! I started convincing myself that I’ll do well if I just stopped feeling nervous. When I arrived to school, my friends were standing there excited but still worried like me. When the clock sharped 11:00 AM, all 9th graders went back stage while still those responsible for the sound, flashlights, and deco stayed on the stage. We all kept rehearsing our parts and made our best to sound natural. The funniest part was me putting on those oversized pjs. Thanks to the amazing Sarah who messed up my hair and applied some black face paint on my face. Now, I looked really disheveled and poor. When it was exactly 12:30 PM, the audience started getting in , and everything on stage was set including a tent on the poor girl’s side (on my side). On the other side of the stage, teddy bears and pink pillows were arranged neatly, and a huge car poster was hung on the wall (thanks to the deco). Silence, and here we start. (The act started with the narrator describing the life of the spoiled girl who has lots of friends following her. At that point, the spoiled girl appears on stage walking arrogantly with her nose up in the air. Then she meets one of her friends whom she talks with. Her friend leaves, and the spoiled girl’s spore mom appears. The girl nags and storms towards her mom shouting to her about her lost bb cover. The mom calms her daughter and orders her to go eat her lunch. The girl and her mom both leave. The flashlight then focuses on “ME”. At that point my blood ran cold. Without feeling what was actually happening, I went out of the tent and performed my first part where I was telling the audience how hungry and miserable I feel. The scene was interrupted by my two poor friends who came along with a smile on their face, inviting me to eat some rice with them. Then the narrator says ‘That’s how the poor girl’s wounds are healed even if the reason was as simple as a pack of rice”. Then the stage is cleared up and a partition is placed between both sides of the stage. The flashlight now focuses on the spoiled girl who is angry because her father got her a blue Porsche instead of a red one. Then the flashlight turns towards my side. Surprisingly, I got that courage booster and stopped feeling nervous but so emotional. I stood there helpless as any poor girl asking help from god. That scene ends with me and the spoiled girl asking for a whole different life. The next scene starts with us both lying on the ground out of consciousness. What surprised the audience was seeing the poor girl on the spoiled girl’s side and the spoiled girl on the poor girl’s side. They then understood that their wishes came true. The spoiled girl wakes up disgusted from everything. Then the two poor friends enter and the spoiled girl stands there speechless. Both girls approach the spoiled girl. The spoiled girl then realizes that she’s in a whole different world. The flashlight then focuses on me! I wake up from my unconsciousness surprised with what is happening. I run all over the stage looking at the bathroom, the living room, the stairs and everything else. As I turn my back, I find a mom standing there! (At that point on the stage I started telling myself, how would a poor orphan react when she sees her mom?!) I immediately threw myself in the arms of the mom and started kissing her. Then the flashlight goes on the other side where the spoiled girl’s life turns into a miserable one. She feels guilty that she didn’t think about those needy orphans and how they live. ) Finally the show comes to an end.
Special Thanks to Miss Hada who helped us a lot throughout the whole project including the sale and the play.

Does it sound really convincing when it comes to Medical problems?
I love it when it comes to vacations because you get the chance to do whatever you want . It could be either go shopping , swimming , or hang out with your buddies ! For me , I just rest on the couch and read book or sometimes watch a movie! Few hours ago , I was caught by dad who found me drinking a can of Pepsi . As usual I listened to the usual lecture"Stop Drinking This Thing" . Then I had a flashback when my doctor once said that I must stop drinking soda to maintain a fit body . Dad left , and I decided to check Google's opinion . Then , I found this website : http://whitney05.hubpages.com/hub/Soda-is-Bad-for-You it explains every single thing about soda and its ingredients. Also why its not considered to be a harmful drink . Now I knew why dad kept on urging me to cut down on soda. That's because it is so addictive, it cause cancer and osteoporosis , it leads to stress , a racing mind , and jitters. Thanks to the sugar , caffeine , and carbonation . To find out more , visit the website.
I must say now that I must cut down on soda and turn my diet into a new leaf by drinking tea , fruit juice , or fresh water.
jitters : feeling of fright or unease
osteoporosis : a disorder in which the bones become increasingly porous , brittle, and subject to fracture , owning to loss of calcium and other mineral components , sometimes resulting in pain , decreased height , and skeletal deformities
Note: from now on , I'll highlight every new word I read and you'll find its definition at the bottom. Hope u benefit from this :) xoxo

A lesson to remember
I've been burning the midnight oil for two weeks and finally "IM DONE WITH EXAMS' Those past two weeks were extremely tiring for me since I had to stay studying till 2 AM! Sleeping five hours before my exam was not good though! I must say that thank god I did my best and I'm satisfied with what I did (except Maths and Physics)! I remember two days ago I used to go to school with a frown on the face (I was REALLY nervous before my exams) and when I got the paper I felt my heart was racing and all what I've studied had just popped out of my head . Until last day exams (which was yesterday) , I had this chit chat with mom in the morning and she convinced me that being too nervous will lead to failure! On my way to school I thought of what she said and decided to control my nerves. When it was time to start the English exam,I managed to keep a cool head ! As minutes pass I started realizing that I'm almost done until it was 8:50 and now I was ready to submit! AFTER THIS MOMENT I FELT REALLY RELIEVED! I must say that I've learned an important lesson "A day of worry is more exhausting than a day of work"

How to get over stress?
I accept the fact that grade 9 is a huge step forward , but still I think we must cope with it . These days most of my friends are complaining about how stressed they are (I also do) , but its just us who chose this path (IGCSE) and we MUST help ourselves. I just sat with myself and thought what makes us so stressed? If we thought of stress as a 'feeling of excitement' then the word stress we all know won't exist. Just few minutes ago , I read an article on BBC that discussed how we can cope with stress. I actually got touched by this sentence: We're not weak or neurotic because we're stressed - we're stressed because we're human. Blaming ourselves or doling out negative thoughts as self-imposed punishment is a waste of energy. That's so true! Stress is not always what a 'weak' person feels. A strong person can get as stressed as a weak person. Being stressed is a total waste of energy. That's exactly what my father told me when I went to him complaining about how stressed I am. Keep in mind also that stress affects your health negatively. It can cause simple pains like headache to severe heart diseases . So don't put yourself under too much stress and always have some time for entertainment. Put this in mind " All work no play makes Jack a dull boy"

School head (in Liverpool) welcomes magic of learning through e-readers
I just read an article that discussed how a school in Liverpool becomes more successful with the via smartphones. So now student in this school dont carry books. They just get smartphones were they save most of their lessons. I totally agree with this since pupils wont have to carry a 3 KG bags on their backs. New fact of the day(Earth's Spin)
Few hours ago , a weird question just popped into my head , and I was so curious for an answer . Why can't we feel Earth's spin ? I thought of it for an instant , but then I then I decided I'd google it. What I actually found out is that Earth spins constantly at a speed of 3000 meters per second . We don't feel Earth's spin because we're actually part of this spin . To make it more simple I thought of Earth as an airplane .When we are in the plane up high , we don't feel that the plane is moving (just like earth) unless the pilot presses on the brakes we then can feel that there's a force that pushes us in our seats . Since Earth moves at a constant speed and does not speed up or slow down so we don't feel any spin .
